The nation’s largest motion picture exhibitor and independent bottler of Pepsi-Cola products informed the Securities and Exchange Commission that the Justice Department has convened “several” grand juries since last August to investigate practices in both industries. The Chestnut Hill, Mass.-based company said that the grand juries are investigating possible ticket price fixing at box offices and that the Justice Department is also investigating possible antitrust violations concerning the pricing of soft drinks.
