The Agriculture Department also reported that prices received by farmers for raw products were 9.1% below the level of a year ago. The report by the department’s Agricultural Statistics Board said the decline was mostly the result of lower prices for eggs, cattle, hogs, wheat and milk. Higher prices for lettuce, potatoes and tomatoes offset part of the decline for the other commodities.
