PARIS — Dominique Bozo, curator of the Pompidou Center’s National Museum of Modern Art, said in a newspaper article printed Wednesday that he has submitted his resignation to the government to protest a space shortage at the museum.
Bozo wrote in a full-page article in the daily Le Figaro that the musuem is in a state of crisis and “on the brink of asphyxiation.”
“Since 1947, no new space whatsoever has been given to the art of this century in Paris,” he said.
Bozo, a well-known Picasso expert and also head curator at the Picasso Museum at the Hotel Sale, was traveling in France and unavailable for comment, the museum said.
