However, the New York investor vowed to continue his $935-million campaign to win control of the truck-trailer maker. Company officials said they could not release numerical results of the vote because of a requirement that an independent firm count votes in a contested election. But the board’s secretary, T. Neil Combs, said: “I think you can say our board was overwhelmingly reelected.” Official results will be available May 15, he said. About two-thirds of Fruehauf’s shares were voted. Edelman also conceded that his candidates had not won the election.
