Taiwan led a Survey of Industrial Growth.

The Conference board’s report showed that solid expansion is continuing in most of the world’s major industrialized countries as economic performance and leading indicators advanced a combined 4%. In Taiwan, the leading index is rising at a rate of 13%. Japan, which had been showing some economic weakness, showed a 4% improvement, the same as in the United States. Other rates included: Italy, 7%, Canada,5%; Britain and France, 4%, and West Germany and Australia, 3%.
