Local News in Brief : $1 Cab Rides Begin in Westlake Village

Adial-a-ride program for Westlake Village residents was launched Thursday as officials hired a private taxi company to offer $1 rides within the city limits.
Residents can ride up to four miles under the program, City Manager James E. Emmons said. The city will subsidize the rides for a three-month ridership test, he said.
The program will be operated by the Thousand Oaks Cab Co.
