Japan Job Picture Steady

TOKYO — Japanese employment remained stable in the 1985 fiscal year, with the jobless rate averaging 2.6%, down 0.1% from 1984, the government reported Thursday. The report said that 1.58 million people were jobless in the year ending March 31, a decrease of about 10,000 from a year ago.
