A 14-year-old Pomona boy remained in critical condition and on life supports after the house fire that killed four members of his family. David Taplett suffered massive smoke inhalation. His mother, Cheryl Williams, 33, and two other sons, Jeffrey Miller, 3, and Charles Williams, 16, died in the Tuesday fire. A third son, Damel Sapp, 9, died the day after the fire at Pomona Valley Community Hospital of burns and smoke inhalation. Eric Hinton, 17, the oldest child of the family, was rescued by neighbors who broke down a barred front door. He was in fair condition at the same hospital.
