Garden Grove : Man Shot While Riding in Truck

Two bullets smashed through the rear window of a pickup truck late Thursday night in the Buena Clinton area, striking the truck’s passenger in the shoulder and head, police said.
Michael Giovannoni, 32, of Anaheim was reported in critical condition Friday at UCI Medical Center.
He and George Beaver had been driving in the 12600 block of Keel Avenue at about 10:45 p.m. when two shots rang out, police said. Beaver, 40, of Anaheim drove to Santa Ana Hospital Medical Center two blocks away after the shooting.
One of the bullets lodged in Giovannoni’s brain, Police Sgt. Bruce Beauchamp said.
Beaver and police returned to the site of the shooting but found nothing. Beauchamp said the investigation is continuing.
