National Racquetball Championships : Hogan Advances to the Semifinals

Five-time national champion Marty Hogan advanced to the semifinals of the national racquetball championships at the Sports Gallery in Anaheim Friday night.
Hogan, the tournament’s No. 1 seed, defeated Cliff Swain, 9-11, 11-3, 9-11, 11-2, 11-2, and will face Brett Harnett in a semifinal match. Harnett beat Mike Ray, 11-9, 11-1, 11-5, to advance.
Gregg Peck defeated Ed Andrews, 11-4, 8-11, 11-4, 11-4, to advance to the other semifinal.
Lynn Adams defeated Sandy Robson, 21-11, 21-11, 21-7, to advance to one of the women’s semifinals matches. She will meet Terri Gilreath, who beat Fran Davis, 21-12, 21-11, 21-9. Vicki Panzeri will face Caryn McKinney in the other women’s match. Panzeri defeated Cindy Baxter Penn 21-17, 21-16, 21-19, and McKinney beat Holly O’Brien, 21-8, 21-9, 21-15.
