Tried Some B

In reference to Jerry Hulse’s article on the expense of staying in a bed-and-breakfast establishment in this country (Feb. 23), I thought I’d let you in on a find in the Pacific Northwest. There is an organization called Bed and Breakfast Service, or BABS as they call it, in Bellingham, Wash. They handle a number of B&Bs; in the Northwest and are branching out to other parts of the country. Staying in a large Bavarian chalet on a lake was about $20 double. Breakfast included homemade blueberry muffins that alone were worth the $20! The address: P.O. Box 5025, Bellingham, Wash. 98226.
So there are a few European-priced and styled B&Bs; left if you can find them.
