RITT NAMED TO UCLA TEACHING POST

Martin Ritt has been named the first distinguished director in residence at UCLA’s College of Fine Arts and will be teaching a directing course in the university’s Department of Theater, Film and Television, it was announced by department chairman George Schaefer.
The veteran director of film (“Sounder,” “Norma Rae”) and theater (“A View From the Bridge”) will also supervise the projects of six graduate students and host a screening of those projects at quarter’s end.
