UCSD Names Acting Medical School Dean

Wayne Akeson, a professor of surgery at the UC San Diego School of Medicine, was named the school’s acting dean starting in September.
Akeson succeeds Robert G. Petersdorf, vice chancellor for health sciences and dean of the School of Medicine, who will leave to become president of the Assn. of American Medical College.
