Banning Mayor Arrested

BANNING — Mayor Rod Cowles has been arrested on charges of child molestation, police said today.
Cowles, 35, was arrested Tuesday night at his home and booked into County Jail on four counts of child molestation, Lt. Mike Pagan said. The charges involve two children, Pagan said. He did not know how the alleged victims met Cowles, who lives alone and is estranged from his wife.
