The University of Oregon eliminated its men’s and women’s swimming programs and women’s gymnastics and also cut three positions from the athletic department to cover a budget crunch caused by a loss of television revenue. Athletic Director Bill Byrne said the school also reduced expenses by cutting the budgets for men’s outdoor track and field and wrestling.
