Orion Pictures reported a fourth-quarter net loss of $22.9 million, slightly exceeding the $22-million net loss that the company forecast last month. Revenue for the quarter was $46.5 million, down 32% from a similar period last year. For the year ended Feb. 28, Orion reported a loss of nearly $31.9 million on revenue of $198.1 million, compared to net income of $6.6 million on revenue of $223 million in the previous year. The New York-based motion picture company said last month that it had decided to take “moderate” writeoffs on more than 30 pictures. The fourth-quarter results also reflect Orion’s decision not to release a film last Christmas. Orion’s interest expense for the year nearly doubled to $15.1 million, up from $7.6 million in the previous year.
