Police in Peru Raid Guerrilla Hideout

LIMA, Peru — Police said Wednesday they dealt a major blow to a Peruvian guerrilla group after uncovering the fifth hideout of the organization since last weekend.
The safehouse of the leftist Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement discovered Tuesday contained a bomb-making workshop including electrical timers, fuses and a chemical laboratory.
A submachine gun, a grenade, and bullets were also seized in the assault on the hideout in a working-class district.
Police have arrested 16 rebel suspects in the hideout raids in their biggest counterinsurgency success against the group.
