Picus Position on Development

How very amusing that Councilwoman Joy Picus would have her signature on a letter we received the other day which began; “Greedy developers and their hired army of City Hall lobbyists are ruining Los Angeles!” It goes on to mention what will happen to Woodland Hills if we don’t stop the developers. In the April 18 Times we read that Joy Picus, in November, helped persuade the City Council to approve the Hilton Hotel project over the objections of the Los Angeles Planning Commission.
Those of us who moved to Woodland Hills over 30 years ago to escape a big-city atmosphere have a question: Are those council members really trying to serve our interests or have they joined the “hired army”?
