Iran said Iraqi warplanes attacked an oil refinery near Tehran, killing three people and wounding at least 10, and also bombed civilian areas of three northwestern towns, killing six and wounding 35. Iraq acknowledged the refinery attack, which was the first raid in the Tehran area since last June, but said there was only “slight damage.” Iraq denied striking civilian areas but said it raided military targets in northwest Iran.
