A Dane County circuit judge denied a motion to reduce the number of charges against two of the three former University of Minnesota basketball players accused of multiple sexual assault counts in Madison, Wis.
The three were charged on a dozen counts of first-degree sexual assault on an 18-year-old Madison woman in a downtown motel room on Jan. 24. They are Mitchell Lee of Carol City, Fla; Kevin Smith, 21, of Lansing, Mich.; and George Williams Jr. of Oakland. Judge George Northrup denied a motion to reduce the number of charges against Lee and Smith.
