Barbara Walters to Forgo Queries to Answer ‘I Do’

Television interviewer Barbara Walters will stop asking questions long enough to answer one Saturday when she says “I do” to Merv Adelson, the TV executive who brings “Dallas” to America, friends said today.
The wedding ceremony was set for after sundown, when the Jewish Sabbath ends, at the secluded estate of Leonard and Wendy Goldberg, near the Beverly Hills Hotel, with about 80 guests expected.
Although Walters and Adelson have been engaged for some time, friends said they apparently decided only a few days ago to get married. Originally, only 30 close West Coast friends were invited, but then Walters got on the phone and invited 50 more.
Adelson, 56, is chairman of the board of Lorimar Productions and, since 1963, president of Rancho La Costa. Walters is 54, and has been a star personality for ABC-TV for years. Both have been married before.
