San Diego Prep Baseball Roundup : San Diego Takes City Central Lead by Beating Hoover

SAN DIEGO — San Diego High School moved into first place in the City Central League Thursday by rallying to defeat Hoover, 6-3, at San Diego.
Trailing, 3-1, in the bottom of the fifth, the Cavers scored twice to tie it at 3-3. Then, in the sixth, San Diego scored three times to win it.
San Diego is 7-3-1 in league and 11-10-1 overall. Hoover is 7-4 and 10-9.
Winning pitcher Byron Johnson threw a complete game four-hitter.
In another City Central League action:
Crawford 8, St. Augustine 6--A six-run fifth inning led Crawford (6-4-1, 10-9-1) over St. Augustine (3-8, 6-14) at St. Augustine. Andrew Riveroll went the distance for his third league win.
METRO-MESA LEAGUE Sweetwater 2, Montgomery 1--Sweetwater (7-2, 10-10) moved into first place by defeating No. 4 Montgomery (6-3, 13-6). Juan Price singled in Eddie Magdaleno with the game-winning run in the sixth.
Hilltop 7, Chula Vista 4--Robbie dePerro scored the game-winning run on a throwing error in the sixth as Hilltop (3-6, 6-11) beat Chula Vista (4-5, 8-11). Hilltop’s David Mossman had two doubles and two RBIs.
Bonita Vista 13, Castle Park 3--No. 8 Bonita Vista remained a game behind Metro-Mesa leader Sweetwater with the win. Bill Miller’s grand slam keyed a seven-run Bonita Vista second.
Mar Vista 7, Coronado 3--Scott Brooks had three RBIs and Art Suarez pitched a complete game to lead Mar Vista.
