Pappas Homers, Triples as Angels Beat Gulls, 9-3

Eric Pappas homered and tripled to drive in three runs Thursday to lead the Palm Springs Angels to a 9-3 win over Ventura County.
Scott Marrett (3-2) went 5 innings to win the California League game. Jeff Musselman (2-3) took the loss for the Gulls, who fell 3 1/2 games behind Palm Springs.
