Theologian James I. McCord will be presented the Templeton Prize for Progress in Religion on Tuesday in London. McCord is founder and director of the Center for Theological Inquiry in Princeton, N.J. He was president of Princeton Theological Seminary for 23 years. He is the 14th winner of the Templeton prize, valued at more than $230,000, which recognizes those who have pioneered new ways of understanding God.
