We reported that Whoopi Goldberg would be playing a lesbian burglar named Bernice in “Burglar,” a switch on the character of Bernie, who had a Sapphic pal in Lawrence Block’s novel “The Burglar in the Closet.”

But now a Nelvana Entertainment spokesman tells us now that Bernice is really heterosexual. Who’s gay is Bernice’s buddy Carl, a poodle groomer to be played by comic Bob Goldthwait.

The rep apologized to us. He admitted that he was sexually confused.
