MACHOBICIZE

Is a TV workout called “Machobics” really the desirable chaser to the working man/woman’s day? The folks at Financial News Network hope so.
The title’s not meant to offend women, said a FNN spokesman. He admitted that most viewers of FNN’s sports programming--known as SCORE--are male. But he’s confident women will also want to tune into the weekday prime-time “Machobics,” tentatively set to go on in August: “We mean macho as health-oriented.”
Auditions for host/hostess are Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m. at 2525 Ocean Park Blvd., Santa Monica. Wanted: a muscled body with a “ macho state of mind” to keep those yuppie bods burning. Or as the FNN rep said, a cross between L.A. Raiders behemoth Lyle Alzado, zany Richard Simmons and once Miss Olympia Rachel McLish.
