Taft College trustees have suspended the men’s basketball program for the coming season.
The decision was based on the resignation of Coach Rolland Todd at the end of last season, Athletic Director Al Baldock said. Taft qualified for state tournament play this year and made the final 16 last year but has not found a new coach.
“I wasn’t for this action, but the board decided to move this way,” Baldock said. “It’s a matter of no coach, and also financial. Not many athletic programs make money these days.”
