Soviets Find Ruins of Lost 11th-Century Town

MOSCOW — Soviet archeologists have found the ruins of a lost 11th-Century Russian town called Medved (Bear), the official news agency Tass reported Sunday.
The town, in the Kalinin region north of Moscow, was built by a Finno-Ugric tribe called the Merya but was never mentioned in chronicles, Tass said.
