SDSU Crew Qualifies for National Finals

San Diego State’s varsity and junior varsity lightweight eight boats qualified for the National Rowing Championships with victories Sunday in the Pacific Coast Rowing Championships on Lake Natoma at Sacramento.
SDSU’s varsity lightweight boat finished in 6:26.94 to outdistance second-place Washington State (6:29.85). The Aztecs’ junior varsity boat (6:24.46) beat California (6:24.86) by less than a half-second.
Also advancing to the national finals June 13 in Cincinnati were the Aztecs’ varsity four and freshman novice four boats. Both boats won Sunday.
