Olympic champion Greg Louganis hit the platform with his feet and finished fifth in the McDonald’s Invitational diving meet at Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Louganis, who hadn’t lost a platform event since the U.S Indoor Championships in April of 1984, was not injured.

Li Koncheng of China took advantage of Louganis’ mishap to win the men’s event, whereas American Michele Mitchell won the women’s platform competition.
