Self Care Systems Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of NMS Pharmaceuticals Inc. of Newport Beach, said it has received Food and Drug Administration approval to remove diet restrictions on its in-home test, EZ Detect, which checks for hidden blood in the stool. The two other home tests on the market that check for internal bleeding have dietary restrictions, a company spokesman said, because certain fruits, vegetables and meats can skew test results.
Net sales for NMS increased 43% to $521,227 during its third quarter, ended in February, and a spokesman said that increase is “wholly due” to sales of EZ Detect.
