For Better Living Inc. said net income for its first quarter ended March 29 was $196,000 contrasted with net income of $95,000 for the same period a year earlier.
The company said sales for the quarter totaled $15.5 million, contrasted with $10 million for the comparable period a year ago.
The San Juan Capistrano-based concern attributed the gains to completion of its acquisition of Dalworth Corp., an Arlington, Tex.-based maker of precast concrete products.
In addition to concrete and plastic products, For Better Living publishes Surfer, Sail Boarder and Powder magazines.
