Tests showed that RTD driver Vivian Harris had cocaine in her bloodstream when her bus slammed into the back of another RTD bus on 5th Street near Main Street, a spokesman for the Southern California Rapid Transit District said. Harris, 37, was one of 21 people treated for minor injuries. RTD spokesman Jim Smart said Harris, a bus driver for seven years, was suspended immediately after Monday’s accident. He said some passengers said she had been driving erratically before the crash. Smart said that under terms of a new policy on drug use, the RTD will ask for her dismissal at a closed personnel hearing to be held within the next five days.
