Bell Atlantic will divest part of a business.

U.S. District Judge Harold Greene ordered Bell Atlantic to get rid of a substantial portion of its paging marketing business. The judge allowed the company to keep its paging subsidiary, A Beeper Co., but ordered that Bell Atlantic cannot be a marketing agent for paging services that are owned, operated or sold by the other six regional companies that were created when AT&T; was broken up. The bulk of A Beeper’s business is with those companies.
