The new superintendent of the Escondido Union School District will be Robert J. Fisher, 46, who for the last four years was superintendent of the South Lake Tahoe Unified School District.
Fisher was hired Thursday by the trustees for the elementary school district under a contract that will pay him $72,000 a year, a $3,000 annual raise for him.
Fisher succeeds Don Hout, who retires June 30 after 10 years as the district’s superintendent.
At Lake Tahoe, Fisher was credited for his financial expertise and for soothing labor woes.
