LONDON — Queen Elizabeth II leaves next Thursday for a six-day private visit to horse-breeding farms in Kentucky, Buckingham Palace said today. She last visited the state in October, 1984.
The 60-year-old monarch will again be a guest of William S. Farish III, president of the Jockey Club of the United States, and his wife, Sarah, at their thoroughbred farm outside Lexington, Ky. The queen has 22 mares at stud and 27 horses in training at her three farms in England, and is expected to visit many thoroughbred farms in Kentucky, a palace spokeswoman said.
