Knowles Is Named South Coast’s MVP

Dana Hills High School, the Southern Section 4-A division volleyball champion, placed four players on the All-South Coast League’s first team.
Chris Knowles, a 6-foot 2-inch outside hitter, was named the Most Valuable Player by a vote of the league’s coaches.
The coaches’ first team: Brian Bowen (Dana Hills), Copper Collins (San Clemente), Jason Elder (El Toro), Tim Glasgow (Dana Hills), Scott Lindquist (Dana Hills) and Ryan Mennealy (El Toro).
Second team: Dave Bemoll (Mission Viejo), Robert Binder (Capistrano Valley), Dennis Erk (Mission Viejo), Eric Eyre (San Clemente), Bryan Hopkins (El Toro), Shawn Patchell (Irvine) and Randy Weston (Dana Hills).
