UCSD’s Baseball Team Loses to Stanislaus, 7-3

The UC San Diego baseball team lost the first game of its best-of-five series against Cal State Stanislaus, 7-3, Friday in the Division III Western Regional playoffs at Turlock, Calif.
Triton shortstop Don Peterson committed three errors in the first three innings, leading to four unearned runs for Stanislaus. UCSD was down, 7-0, after four innings.
Dan DiMascio hit a three-run home run for the Tritons in the eighth inning. Peterson, who went 2 for 3, and Bob Natal, who went 2 for 4, were on base when DiMascio hit the homer. The teams play a doubleheader at noon today.
