Low Oil Prices Lead to Layoffs by Pump Firm

Bartlesville, Okla. — TRW-REDA Pump will lay off about 150 production workers because of low oil prices, a company spokeswoman said.
REDA manufactures submersible electronic pumps for offshore oil wells.
Mary Iorns, REDA public relations director in Bartlesville, said elimination of some salaried positions also is being considerred by the company.
The company laid off about 350 production workers and 70 salaried employees at the plant late last year as part of a reorganization effort.
With the latest reduction, the company has less than 1,000 employees at its Bartlesville plant.
