5,200 Free Flights to Britain

NEW YORK — British Airways, suffering a sharp drop in trans-Atlantic business because of American fears of foreign terrorism, today announced an $8-million giveaway in which thousands of U.S. passengers will fly free and have a chance to win prizes ranging frm a Rolls Royce to a posh London flat.
On June 10, all 5,200 seats on the airline’s flights from 15 U.S. cities to London will be free, and passengers will be chosen via a sweepstakes drawing to be announced May 29. Those who already have booked for that date will get a one-way refund, but sweepstakes winners will get a free roundtrip, good for a year.
