Defensive lineman Mark Walen, a third-round draft choice out of UCLA, fractured a bone in his right ankle during a 1 1/2-mile run on the last day of the Dallas Cowboys’ rookie orientation. He is expected to remain in a cast for up to four weeks and may be available for some exhibition games in August.
