Pomona : Trial Date Set for Lampman

City Administrator Ora Lampman, who was arrested in December on suspicion of drunk driving, will face a jury trial in Citrus Municipal Court on Aug. 12, court officials said Tuesday.
Lampman, 55, was arrested after a Claremont police officer observed Lampman’s car swerving at 1:45 a.m., according to police records. Lampman, who was driving a city-owned vehicle, failed a field sobriety test, officers said.
He was originally scheduled to appear in Pomona Municipal Court in January, but Municipal Court Judge Theodore Piatt said that Lampman was too well known among the judges to be tried in Pomona.
Piatt recommended that the case be transferred to Citrus Municipal Court in West Covina, where Lampman had been scheduled to appear in April. That appearance was reset for Monday, court officials said. Lampman, who has worked in Pomona government for 19 years, said in an interview Tuesday that his lawyer is handling all the legal arrangements.
