Sierracin, a Sylmar-based aerospace and electronics firm, named Joseph F. Swyt president and chief operating officer. Swyt, 47, joined Sierracin in June, 1985, as president and chief operating officer of the electronics group, which accounts for five of the company’s nine operating divisions.
Swyt replaces Christoph Tribull, who remains the company’s chairman and chief executive. Tribull assumed the president’s job on an interim basis last summer following the departure of Peter K. Maeussnest, who is suing Tribull and Sierracin for wrongful dismissal.
Before joining Sierracin, Swyt was general manager of Rolm Corp.’s large communications systems division based in Santa Clara. He also spent 20 years with Gould Inc. in various engineering, marketing and management jobs.
