La Habra : Gunman Transmits Signal to CB Owner
- Share via
Police are searching for a man who shot three bullets into a CB radio Tuesday night after surprising the radio’s owner, Dennis Carrico, in the garage at his Chesham Avenue home.
Carrico told police he noticed a stranger standing behind him who then told him to “turn off the radio.” The man then fired a pistol into the radio, destroying it, and fled on foot.
Police said they searched the neighborhood without success.
Carrico told police that he had received complaints from three neighbors who had experienced television interference caused by his CB transmitter but had supplied each of them with electronic filters, which he said eliminated further problems.
The bullet-ridden radio was valued at $500, police said.
