A 5-year-old girl was killed, and her 12-year-old brother was seriously injured Wednesday night when they were struck by a car as they were crossing a street in Northridge, Los Angeles police said.
Sunyana Dhiman and her brother, Yogesh, both of Northridge, were taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where the girl was pronounced dead, Officer Joe Albright said. Her brother was in serious condition Thursday with two broken legs, a nursing supervisor said.
The children were struck by a car driven by Jerome Salcfas, 54, of Encino as they were crossing Parthenia Street between Vanalden and Wilbur avenues just after 9 p.m., Albright said. He said the driver was not cited.
