A predawn one-car accident on La Cresta Road east of El Cajon caused the death Saturday of a 35-year-old El Cajon woman, the California Highway Patrol reported. Janice Sue Conney was pronounced dead at the scene, the CHP said.
Conney was driving on La Cresta Road about a mile west of Hamlet Drive when her car veered off the road, slid down an embankment and overturned, throwing her out.
A passenger in the car, Richard Olson, 37, of El Cajon, was not injured. The cause of the 2:30 a.m. accident is under investigation.
