Machines Blown Up at Hitachi Plant Site

NORMAN, Okla. — Three to five explosive devices caused extensive damage at a construction site for a new Hitachi computer plant in Norman, but investigators said Tuesday that an excavating company and not Hitachi was the target. No injuries were reported in the blasts late Monday.
The explosions caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage to eight pieces of earth-moving equipment owned by Rohrer Excavating Inc., based in Oklahoma City, police said. They said they had no motive for the bombing.
