Man Angry at Having No Sons Blinds His Wife

NAIROBI, Kenya — A woman whose husband gouged out her eyes because she had six daughters and no sons was led into court today and filed for divorce. Piah Njoki, 39, said her husband Ngungu, 42, who was jailed for seven years for the attack, was aided by his brother and a girlfriend when he battered her head in a fit of anger over his all-girl family.
