La Puente : Bonus, Raise for Teachers
Teachers and classified employees in the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District are to be paid a one-time bonus plus a raise from state lottery funds, according to an agreement reached with the district.
Dave Dowling, the district’s assistant superintendent for personnel, said bonuses will equal 3% of salaries for the 1985-86 academic year and a 2.5% raise will go into effect in July.
“It follows pretty much what other districts have done with lottery funds,” said Dowling, who was the district’s chief negotiator.
The agreement with the California School Employees Assn. was ratified last week and is expected to be formally approved at the Board of Education meeting Friday, he said.
