Santa Fe Springs : Motel Bed Tax to Rise to 8%

An ordinance raising the motel bed tax rate from 5% to 8% was approved last week by the City Council.
The tax from the two motels operating in the city now generate $56,000 a year. That amount will increase to $90,000 under the new ordinance. The increase, effective June 22, will be the first since 1971.
